The Prepositions

Lesson 36 - Greek Grammar

  Prepositions (Οι Προθέσεις) are words that modify adverbs or nouns.
Example: Αγόρασα ρούχα για τον Νίκο -I bought clothes for Nick-.
Πήγα στο θέατρο με την Μαρία - I went to the theatre with Mary-.

   The Prepositions are:

Table 36.1
με = with
σε = to
για = for
ως = to
κατά = at, according to, against
παρά = by
αντί, αντί για = instead of
χωρίς = without
από = from
προς = toward
δίχως = without
μετά = later, after


   Table 36.2 shows some examples of prepositions:
